Mann Creek Bridge Construction and Road Closure
Contact Information: 208-549-4200
The Payette National Forest will be constructing two road bridges to replace deteriorated double culverts on Mann Creek Road (FSR #009). This construction will close the upper portion of Mann Creek Road to traffic between June 2 and 20, 2025. However, construction dates may change – watch for updates on the Payette National Forest website. Mann Creek Road will be reopened as soon as construction progress allows. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.
The closed portion of Mann Creek Road lies north of its junction with Fourth of July Creek Road (FSR #024), which will remain open. This will close vehicle access to the area of the Mann Creek drainage that includes Spring Creek, Paradise, and Justrite Campgrounds and Sturgill Fire Lookout. Alternative access to the area is available for ATVs and UTVs via existing trails but no services will be provided at these sites.
Campground services at Spring Creek, Justrite, and Paradise Campgrounds will not resume until the week of June 22, unless construction progress allows for access by maintenance personnel prior to this.
Two existing double culverts providing drainage beneath the road have deteriorated badly and become prone to plugging during rain and runoff events. Emergency heavy equipment work has been required several times to prevent severe damage to the road. Replacement is necessary to prevent the loss of portions of Mann Creek Road during future events of this type. The road bridges that will replace these culverts will allow for high flows and debris passage without damage to the roadway.
