72nd St. Angler Trail and Fishing Access

This portion of the Pere Marquette is flies only, catch and release. During spring and summer this site is very popular for brown trout. The river bottom in this stretch is primarily gravel beds. The forest surrounding the area is primarily white pine with an oak overstory. While the .25 mile trail to the river is on federal land, much of the surrounding land is privately owned.
