Information
In the event of a significant or very large wildland fire on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, fire information can be obtained by calling our fire information line at (509) 596-1421 or by visiting the national fire information Inciweb website.
Additional Fire Information is available at:

Seasonal Fire Restrictions
During the summer months, fire restrictions go into effect when forest conditions dry out and fire danger increases. When that occurs, Stage 1 fire restrictions go into effect limiting where forest visitors may have campfires. When Stage 2 restrictions occur, campfires are banned across the forest. Information will be listed here when campfire restrictions are in effect.
Year-round Fire Restrictions ALWAYS in effect
The following are ALWAYS PROHIBITED even when there are no fire restrictions in effect:
- Possessing, discharging or using any kind of firework or other pyrotechnic device.
- The use of explosives including exploding targets and incendiary ammunition.
- Operating or using any internal or external combustion engine without a spark arresting device properly installed, maintained and in effective working order.
- Operating a chainsaw or other equipment powered by an internal combustion engine in violation of Industrial Fire Precaution Level directives (IFPL). State law prohibits operation of chainsaws or industrial equipment outside of IFPL requirements
