Yes, the Gifford Pinchot National Forest offers free personal use firewood authorizations using a self-service procedure. Permits can be obtained at any Gifford Pinchot National Forest office. The authorization allows removal of up to 12 cords of firewood per household.

For campsites that require reservations, they are made through Recreation.gov. To make a reservation, you must contact directly the location where you wish to stay. There is a list of locations that offer cabin and campsite rentals.
The USDA Forest Service does not provide this service, but many State Foresters do. Contact your State Forester to see if they provide this service. You can find your State Forester online.
