Bring your picnic basket to one of our developed picnic areas scattered throughout the forests and grassland. Most locations have picnic tables, vault toilets, and fire grates or rings.

  • Picnic areas
    • The Forest Service maintains developed picnic areas scattered throughout national forests and grasslands.
  • Amenities
    • Most picnic areas have picnic tables, vault toilets, and fire grates or rings.
  • Day-use areas
    • Day-use areas are generally open from sunrise to sunset.
  • First-come, first-served
    • Most picnic areas operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with some exceptions which accept reservations.
